Preparation

What properly prepared
actually means

Six stations, every car, no exceptions. The sheet that comes out of the last one is signed by whoever did the work, and it comes with the car.

  1. 01

    History before handshake

    Before we buy, we run the full HPI and MOT history, check the service record against the mileage, and walk away from anything that does not add up. Most cars we look at never make it here.

  2. 02

    140-point inspection

    Every car goes straight onto the ramp. Brakes, tyres, suspension, cambelt interval, fluids, diagnostics, structure and underside — recorded on a sheet that comes with the car.

  3. 03

    Mechanical preparation

    Anything flagged is fixed, not noted. Consumables are replaced rather than measured to the limit: if the pads are at 4mm they come off. Genuine or OE-equivalent parts throughout.

  4. 04

    Service and fresh MOT

    A full service with the correct oil specification, and a new MOT so you start with twelve months rather than whatever was left. Any advisory is dealt with before the test, not after it.

  5. 05

    Detailing

    Two days of paint correction, decontamination and machine polishing, then a sealant. Interiors are steam-cleaned. We photograph the car afterwards, in daylight, with nothing hidden.

  6. 06

    Road test and sign-off

    Thirty miles on a mixed route — town, A-road and the A19 — by whoever prepared it. It is only advertised once that person has signed the sheet.

Bring your car when you come to view and we will value it on the spot, against the car you are actually looking at. The difference is the only number that matters — and it does not move between the valuation and the handover.

Most of our sourcing work is for people who know exactly what they want and do not fancy twelve months of refreshing classifieds. We work the trade, the auctions and our own network, inspect anything that makes the shortlist, and prepare it here before it is yours.

  • Flat fee agreed before we start, nothing payable until you accept a car

Twelve cars,

We hold twelve cars, not two hundred. Each one is bought on its history, stripped back in our own workshop, and put right before anybody is invited to look at it. That is a slower way to sell cars and a far better way to own one.
